STH marine just got their certification to program and replace batteries for ACR ARTEX.

11-22 SV Hedonism UPDATE: Shortly after this was posted we took 3 ACR products in to take advantage
of now having a battery replacement service available. They took the battery information for our units
and advised that they would order the batteries for our units (1 EPIRB and 2 PLBs) once they had orders
for 10. Of course, they would have to come by Ocean freight so add a month or two. At the end of August
we went into the store to get an update and there was no-one to help us at that time. We were given an
email address to contact the person responsible so we emailed him. We did get a "read receipt" but no
answer. We went in yet again in October and the gentleman was there. He advised us that they still did
not have the number of required batteries to order so the battery order had yet to be submitted to their
supplier. He was going to advise us once the order was placed and as of today, nothing. So, if you want
to get your recertification done at STH you probably need to plan a year or so ahead! Or order your own
batteries.
