10-2019 SV Panache
We were at Marina Taina for 5 months. It’s offers much better protection than Marina Papeete at that
time of year. The downside is that it is not near downtown and the bus system is irregular/undependable,
at best. We purchased new 50cc Peugeot scooter from Bamboo for 300,000XPF, including 2 helmets,
a rear storage box and two chain-locks. Vincent speaks excellent English and is very helpful. You don’t
need a special licence for scooters of 50cc or less. We purchased insurance at a store in the CarrefourPuna’auia complex. The scooter was a FANTASTIC idea and provided us with complete freedom while
we were in Tahiti. It was easy to sell, and it ended up costing us about 600XPF per day. The cost to rent
one is 3000XPF per day.
